  1. Hi Maureen,

    Thanks for submitting your site.

Can I ask which version you are using? If you have the paid version you can download it from our member area. If you do not have access please register here and I’ll provide you access to the latest version.

  2. Hi,

What will happen when i put the latest version on my site instead of the version i have now. Do i have to put all the auction back on?
    Please let me know.
    greetings Maureen

    1. If you upload via FTP than it will just overwrite the files and everything will work as it should. Your auctions will be safe.

If you want to upload it via the WordPress backend you will then need to delete the plugin and re-upload it again. I just tested this for you and my auctions were still there, including the bid history. The only thing is that you will need to CHMOD your “files/” folder to 777 again for the images to appear in the auction widgets.

  3. I have a production and a development website which includes neat examples of what can be done with just themes. http://atb.writhem.com/dev is the development site with plenty of examples that can show off all of the functionality of both the WP Auction and the WritheM Web Solutions theme.

It might be important to note that i do intend to make changes to the base code on the dev site that will add functionality that already exists in an older, customized, release of WP Auctions.

  4. I sell a lot of items on Craigslist. This plugin was a great way to enhance my sales. I can create a secure contact, pickup, and offer some shipping on smaller items. I anticipate it working well.

  5. Got the paid version to auction domain names at http://www.fuzzydomains.com. So far, it’s been great. Have had to modify it quite a bit though to get the functionality that I’m after (like adding time left on auction listings and the ending time in the user’s timezone). Also had to get rid of the “shipping” stuff because there is no shipping in domain sales. Changed MySQL datetime field to an integer field for timestamp of ending date (IMO, this is much easier to manipulate than using a DateTime field)
